Filtration Media

One of the most important features when deciding between shower filters is the filtration media used. The AquaBliss SF100 uses a 13-stage filtration system consisting of KDF-55, calcium sulfite, tourmaline, redox media, and activated carbon. This filtration system removes chlorine, lead, rust, iron, heavy metals, bacteria, viruses, and other common contaminants from your water.

On the other hand, the Sprite Shower Filter uses a 3-stage filtration system. While the number of stages is lower than the AquaBliss SF100, the Sprite Shower Filter’s filtration media is well-designed and can remove many of the same contaminants, including up to 99% chlorine from your water. Sprite can achieve this by relying on a proprietary Chlorgon filtration media, which we found to be very similar to KDF-55. While not as thorough as the SF100, this filtration system is still very effective at reducing chlorine and other common contaminants.

Filtration Capacity

The SF100 and SL2-CM should roughly last 4-6 months for a family of four. This is fairly typical for shower filters on the market today.

Flow Rate

With both filters from Sprite and AquaBliss, you won’t experience any noticeable loss in water pressure. The SL2-CM and SF100 have a maximum flow rate of 2.5 gallons per minute.

Finishes

AquaBliss SF100 falls short when it comes to finishes. You can only pick up the SF100 in chrome, while the Sprite Shower Filter is available in chrome, brushed nickel and white. So, if you are looking for a specific finish to match your bathroom’s style, the Sprite Shower Filter may be a better option.

Installation

Both the SF100 and SL2-CM are designed to be easily installed without needing any tools. With a standard 1/2″ threading, both filters can quickly be attached to most shower heads and arms in just a few minutes. Additionally, whether you live in an apartment, trailer, house, or high-rise, these filters will work just as well.
